NFO® Omega-3 Kril Oil (NFO Omega-3 Krill Oil) is a natural highly purified complex of Omega-3 and astaxanthin in a bioavailable form with enhanced antioxidant protection of the whole organism.
Krill Oil for NFO® Omega-3 Kril Oil is extracted from marine planktonic crustaceans that live in the ecologically clean cold Norwegian Sea. The name of the crustaceans is of Dutch origin and translates as "trifle". Due to their tiny size, krill is not able to accumulate toxic substances in its body and in this sense is a cleaner feedstock than fish.
Krill oil, like fish oil from deep-sea fish of cold seas, contains valuable omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA).
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It is part of the gray matter of the brain, the retina, cell membranes of other organs and systems. DHA plays a primary role in the formation of the human brain and nervous system, affects the speed of transmission of a nerve impulse.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Stimulates the regeneration of cell membranes, normalizes the mechanisms of lipid transport through the bloodstream, activates the immune system, improves the absorption of fats in the digestive tract, increases the body's antioxidant functions.
Importantly, in NFO® Omega-3 Kril Oil Complex, EPA and DHA are bound to phospholipids, so they are more bioavailable and easier to digest.
In addition to the polyunsaturated fatty acids EPA and DHA, NFO® Omega-3 Kril Oil Complex is enriched with a very powerful antioxidant - astaxanthin, which is called the "king of antioxidants".
Astaxanthin mainly protects cells from oxidative stress, ensuring the normal functioning of all organs and systems.

Astaxanthin, which is in the complex, is of natural origin - it is extracted from the microalgae Haematococcus Pluvialis.
